On Wednesday, December 21, 2022, one of Cottonwood’s oldest trees was cut down due to rot and disease.

“I know it’s emotionally difficult to see the tree being cut down. The tree is diseased, rotting from the inside out, and was extremely dangerous,” said Michael Douglas. “Although it’s sad to see the great big willow tree go, we have a plan.”

Douglas also added that 3 new trees will be planted in its place.
